It’s surely not one of his first albums, as he has been around for a long time, but it’s a testament to how great of a songwriter he is, that at this point in his career he can put out an album with such emotional weight and amazing songwriting such as this one.  </p> <p>He’s been paling around with<strong> Bruce Springsteen</strong> as of recent years, and it’s no surprise that they have very similar styles. This tune, “<em><strong>Always A Friend</strong></em>”, has that anthemic quality to it that a <strong>Springsteen</strong> song has. It tells a story but at the same time has the “<em>sing-a-long</em>” quality to it that gets you excited. It doesn’t hurt that <strong>Escovedo</strong> got together some great studio musicians to pump out his vision for the album. All the guitar sounds, vocals, etc sound amazing.
